starting out building resource fields

the reason for this is because once you start farming barbs
there will be little use for farms,lumber and stone
so you will need to replace them with ore remembering to leave
1 lvl 9 -- farm, stone and lumber you will need these for research
purposes
making cots
have 5 to 6 in each city
you will not need no more than 6 upgraded to lvl 9
this will give you plenty of population
making barracks
14 to 16 in each city
upgrade them to lvl 9 quickly as possible
to reduce troop builing time
in 1st city and 2nd city remove tavern
this will give you another spot to put a barrack
set taxes 0 to 2 % this will keep your population happy
and it will return quicker so that you may use the increase gold
button to get more gold
in 2nd city remove market to make another barrack spot
you really only need one market
if both your city's are in the same area
troop building
focus on archers,scouts and militamen
this will be the main troops you need when starting out
try adding a few others in there as you build so that you can
make what is called a rainbow attack
1 mm 1 scout 1 pike 1 sword the rest archers depending on your
level of rally point 9 or 10
moving on to walls
after making at least 40k (40,000) archers and hopefully you have
been upgradeing wall,castle and research while building up city
you can now start with field defense's and mounted wall defenses
again my recommendation is fill the field defense's as follows
spikes---traps
and fill walls with the crossbows
for this is you most effective wall defense
to help out in making wall defenses while building troops
i recomend useing up resources on
wall defenses when you log off resources will regain over night
going after lvl 10 builds

offense and defense
Defense:
1 In War we must be self reliant as much as possible
2 your resource Wilds get wiped out (hire merch's and build traps on them )
3 Hide all resources on a regular basis and rotate your wilds. Put some protection with them,
so it hurts opponent to get them. Most wild sniping is done with 1 or just a few scouts or militia.
4 Never defend your city unless you can see what is coming at you, and then only if you can
match type of troops in superior numbers.
5 After all your defences are wiped out on your city don't waste resources rebuilding them
except for Traps, they will kill on a 1 to 1 basis & Crossbows, they get archers 2 t0 1. It is more important to increase your Army size and hide.
6 Set Tax Rate to just enough to cover costs while away from the game or during all out war.
This prevents some desertions. All gold will be wiped out to 0 if your walls are breached so it must be self reproducing when you are away
7 If you are under attack put as many troops into training as your resources allow and send other extras to another member of our alliance.
8 Watch out for a new tactic on sending in a small force followed by a large force.
So as soon as attack is over put your troops back in hiding, just in case. this only works if you are there to watch it happen.
9 Do NOT re-enforce other players unless you can be at the game to keep an eye on them. Do Not re-enforce a player if the attack is overwhelming, you must protect your own troops by recalling them, they cannot hide in re-enforces castle. If you are attacked by an overwhelming force, you can do your re-enforcements a favor by sending them home from the embassy before the attack arrives and therefore save them.
Offense:
1 Implement Defense Strategy FIRST
2 When war starts the opponent will likely take your wilds. If you can send 1cavalry out to get it back if you see opponent still sitting on it.
3 Learn how to snipe wilds at - http://koc.wikia.com/wiki/Defensive_Strategy - Pay special attention to Wilderness Ping Pong. This is very annoying to the defender, because they will not be able to tell if their city or their wild is being attacked. (same goes for you, so be aware of this)
4 You have to have 1 wild open for each wild you try to snipe, otherwise you may win the battle but not take the wild away from them
5 As the war progresses keep some of the feeding wilds you sniped, you need them to feed your own troops. If they are defended, no big loss if you only sent 1 scout or cavalry.
5 Keep enough troops at the ready to capture new wilds as quickly as possible, especially the feeding ones, to keep your troops from deserting by starvation.
6 The best offense is a good defense, stay calm, and do NOT counterattack an obviously mightier player, allow them to loose troops by attacking you as you keep building new traps and crossbows in small batches. Small batches build and deploy faster.

TINY URLS:
The tiny url is a way for our alliance members to be able to help
each other out, without having to go to FB home page
or leaving the game.
Creating tinyurls;
1. Open www.tinyurl.com in another tab
2. When you begin a task, and ask friends for help,
when the window pops open, right click on the blue letters
just below the spot to place your comment.
3. Select "Copy Link Location"
4. Go to tinyurl tab, paste link into box.
5. Click "Make Tiny Url"
6. Copy the new "tiny" link avoiding the http://
(It should only be similar to this tinyurl.com/634849 )
7. Paste into chat. (check for errors such as "."'s at the end
and such.)
Using tinyurls:
1. copy a posted tinyurl from the chat
2. paste the tinyurl into the BROWSER ADDRESS bar
in the 2nd opened tab (check for errors such as "."'s at the end
and such.)
3. hit enter
*** personal note*** I leave 3 browser tabs open
when playing KoC. 1 to actually play the game,
2nd for making tinyurls,
and the 3rd is 2nd FB page opened to use the tiny url.
After I get a tinyurl request, I jump to tab #3 and
paste into browser address bar, then when I get the
"John Doe has accepted your help" message
I just jump to 1st tab (game)
and leave 3rd page where it is.
This makes keeping up with fast chat postings a lot easier.
Another advantage to having 2nd FB page open is
I can quickly and easily monitor gifts/invitations/help requests
from other domains etc...without having to leave the game.

BARBARIAN CAMPS Kingdoms of Camelot Training Manual
Barbarian Camps cannot be conquered or controlled
but they are an excellent way to get food, small amounts of other
resources,and combat experience for your Knights.
Barbarian camps give the following resources if defeated;
gold 100X level, food 100K X level, 10K wood X level, 1K stone
X level, and 100 ore X level Raid barbarian camps two at a time.
It’s much more efficient to raid 2 level 2 camps than one level 3 camp. The armies don’t have to be the same level either. You could raid one level 4 camp and one level 3 camp at a time, until you get the second city built up. The following is the recommended minimum number of troops you should use (assuming you have HIGH levels of research done);
BB1: 400 Archers, 350 supply troops.
BB2: 1300 Archers, 500 swordsmen, enough supply troops or wagons
to carry 300K load
BB3: 2500 Archers, 1000 swordsmen,
enough supply or wagons to carry 400K load
BB4: 6000 Archers, 2500 swordsmen,
enough supply troops or wagons to carry 500K load
B5+ Don’t bother, stick with Barb 4 camps!
It’s not an efficient way to use troops. Barbarian Camps
usually yield 1000 Gold, 100K Food, 10,000 Lumber, 100 Ore
per Level.So taking out two level 3 Camps gets the same loot
as a level 6 but takes less than half the troops.
Barbarian camps restock to 100% levels in 1 hour.
If you attack before 1 hour you will get a % of the resources
based on time elapsed is 30 minutes = 50% of normal,
15 min =25% etc..

Assumptions and Requirements
1. Level 5 wilderness has same chance to drop any of
the three crests required for third city - assumption
2. Level 6 Fletching minimum
3. Level 6 Rally point
4. 6 idle knights
5. All wilderness slots available based on castle level
are filled. i.e. Level 8 castle with 8 wilderness owned
6. At least level 5 magical mapping for troop speed
7. 35000 archers and the resources to maintain enough in training
to match the losses and speed of your attacks
Tips\Strategy
1. Find 18 level 5,6 and 7 wilderness (include plains)
within short marching distance
2. Using rally point send out 6 knights,
1 at a time, to 6 of your bookmarks.
For the sake of speed I was sending 6k archers with 1 militanmen
during each attack with the first waive as follow
lvl 5 150 mm lvl 6 200 mm lvl 7 250mm
it you want to do it for speed
i recommend sending the 250mm at each
3. Do this for all 18 bookmarks then
get back to real life for a while.
Come back later and do it again.
remember the first waive is a suicide waive and you will lose it
